In the preliminary days of treatment, frequently use ice pack until the ache begins to recede. Apply for 2 days and then switch to heat treatment. This heat treatment can help in stimulating blood flow as well as reducing aching spasms. Use a towel and dip it in warm water. Properly compress it and then fold around painful area.
